Creating Holiday Magic Through Youth Mentorship and Community Support

Creating Holiday Magic Through Youth Mentorship and Community Support

Everyone has different feelings about the holidays, from loving them to being indifferent. Children are still developing these feeling associations, meaning now is the time to help them enjoy the season. From volunteering to donating food and toys, however you are able to give is sure to make an impact in a young person’s life. Whether you choose to support Big Brothers Big Sisters or another charitable organization, we encourage you to make your support known and donate this holiday season.

Where Your Donations Go At Big Brothers Big Sisters

At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Nevada, donations help us fund events and foster support for our youth mentorship program participants that we couldn't have without you.

Funding Events

By choosing to donate this holiday season, you can help us to hold more events, encouraging the youth in our community to find healthy outlets for stress and passion for extracurricular activities. From outdoor picnics to athletic tournaments, donations ensure we can safely hold our events.

Supporting Our Youth Mentorship Program

Choosing to donate to BBBSSN is choosing to donate to youth mentorship, enabling us to pair more Bigs and Littles and support them in every way we can. The young people in our community are invaluable to our future, so we’re here to help them make the most of their own futures. Our Bigs lend an ear when they’re struggling, help them with homework, and encourage them to be their best selves. By choosing to donate in Las Vegas through us, you help the youth in our community achieve their dreams.

If you are able, we invite you to show your community support in the form of a holiday donation this December.

Volunteer For Youth Mentorship With Us

If you’d prefer to donate your time through volunteering, we welcome you to apply to be a youth mentor, AKA a Big. These pairings create valuable one-on-one relationships with a proven positive impact on the Little Brother or Little Sister.

Public/Private Ventures conducted a study on the impact of the Big Brothers Big Sisters youth mentorship program, finding that the youth involved were 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs, 27% less likely to begin using alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, and more.

Make A Positive Impact & Donate For The Holidays

Even though Giving Tuesday may have passed, donations and support through the rest of the holiday season is incredibly important. We encourage you to continue community support through volunteering or making a holiday donation.

The youth are our future, and your donation can be the difference maker in their lives.
